Fintry Development Trust

A separate organisation to FREE is being set up, called Fintry Development Trust. Membership of this organisation will be open to anyone living in the Fintry area. FREE will pass the income from the turbine to this development trust which will handle how it is used (according to its Mem and Arts and the wishes of the membership). The development trust is currently applying for charitable status.

We are taking this route so that the 'trading company' is legally separate from the charitable trust. This is an approach that is frequently used by charities who have a commercial arm.

We're hoping to hear soon about the application for charitable status. At which point the development trust can be formally adopted and membership opened. An event to launch this will hopefully co-incide with the commissioning of the windfarm.
